Never Had Much Faith

“Faith” is a very personal song that speaks of the difficulty of finding love that lasts and of having faith in people by looking for that love within them. Chronologically, in my album it represents young adulthood, where the stress of life becomes even more real and immediate, and finding a home where people love and appreciate you is even more important as you navigate life on your own. "Faith" is very much a romantic song, but the story can relate to anybody and any relationship. As a young adult, this is the time when our heart and mind struggle the most, when we look for something to hold on to but we might not know what that is yet. When experience has not yet eroded trust in others, but also hasn’t built up self-confidence, people my age have to navigate the world and manage expectations. We have to figure out what we want from the world and what we can give to it, and having faith in ourselves and making meaningful connections is a large part of that. This is the foundation of "Never Had Much Faith".

The song wouldn’t sound the way it does without the help of talented collaborators, including producer Tristan Demetri, guitarist Carlos Schmitt, and singer Sumika Inoue.
